BIO
Michael Moxey's diverse musical background is reflected in his work. Born in Santa Fe, based in New Mexico, he is a former radio morning show host in Austin and Albuquerque and has been a part of the New Mexico music/media scene for over two decades. He has opened for national touring artists and played every stage around- from huge events (Freedom 4th at Balloon Fiesta Park, Summerfest, the State Fair, Balloon Fiesta) to headlining local festivals (New Mexico Brewfest, Coffee and Chocolate, the old Alibi Crawls) to playing local stages (El Rey, Sunshine, Sister, Launchpad).
Inspired by artist who can't be defined by one genre (David Bowie to Beck to Jack White and on and on), Michael's bands have crossed multiple styles of music.
Prior to 2020, he focused on his work with the Easy Sinners. His 2 alt-country solo albums were nominated for “Best Country Album” in the New Mexico Music Awards. He also had 2 songs from those albums selected by legendary drummer Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty, Duran Duran, Stevie Nicks, Johnny Cash) to play on his SIRIUS XM “Tom Petty Radio” channel show in 2018 and 2019. Going further back, he also played in the bands Lovers&Leavers and Breaker 19, and has had the opportunity to open for acts like Turnpike Troubadours, Lauren Alaina and Wayne "the Train" Hancock. Returning in 2025 after a 5 year hiatus, the Easy Sinners brought a new sound that combines indie rock, 90's alt-rock, pedal steel and the old time-y influence of Willie/Merle/Gram.
Starting in 2023, he created the indie/alt-rock band Secret Eagles. Their debut album was nominated for 3 2024 New Mexico Music Awards, including “Best Rock Album,” “Best Indie Single" (for ”Arroyo Summer") and won for best “Novelty/Comedy Song- ”Sexy Indifference." They were also nominated for “Best Indie Single” ("Sexy Lightning") in the 2025 New Mexico Music Awards.
His broadcasting career includes a dozen years in alternative rock radio, hosting morning shows at the infamous Austin station 101X, as well as shows in Albuquerque at The Edge and The Zone. In that time he was able to interview with musicians/bands like: Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt/Gwen Stefani, U2, The Strokes, Foo Fighters, Blur/Gorillaz, Depeche Mode, Sublime/Bradley Nowell, Queens of the Stone Age/Josh Homme, The Hives, Sheryl Crow, Coldplay/Chris Martin, Lenny Kravitz, etc…
He still occasionally contributes to radio shows, performs in commercials and provides voice over for TV/radio ads.
